MQHA was saddened to learn of the passing of Lloyd Anderson, horseman and MQHA Hall of Fame inductee.
Lloyd Anderson, 93, of Willmar, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Copperleaf Senior Living in Willmar.
His memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation a half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Lloyd Theodore Anderson was born April 14, 1931, in Stanchfield, Minnesota, to Arvid and Helen Anderson. He married Eunice “Lee” Nelson on August 31, 1952, in Brooten, Minnesota. Lloyd and Lee lived in Milaca for 65 years. Lloyd taught at Milaca High School for over 30 years and was also very involved at Zion Lutheran Church. He currently resided at Copperleaf Memory Care in Willmar. Faith, family and horses were the cornerstones of his life.
From a very young age, Lloyd spent time with horses. He become well know as a horse-riding instructor for countless students that came to “The Barn” in Milaca. His students were touched by his gentle spirit and endless patience.
Lloyd is survived by his children: Ted (Mary) and Krista, both of Willmar; three grandchildren: Jim (Rochelle) of Willmar, Dan (Shannon) of Willmar, and Catie (John) Palladino of Spokane; seven great-grandchildren: Lucas, Sammy, Macy, Claire, Nora, Ella and Theo; a sister: Jane of Cambridge; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Arvid and Helen; his wife: Lee; a brother: Lyle; and a sister: Joyce.
